Use of chemical weapons: –

– Using the chemical weapons will largely mean “game over” for the defense in the cities. Spreading chlorine would be terrible, says Colonel Bob Stewart Sky News.

The British Ministry of Defense has previously warned that Russia may use biological or chemical weapons in Ukraine in a so-called false flag operation.

The Kremlin can then accuse the Ukrainians of being in possession of such weapons, as a pretext for using them themselves, the British believe.

In recent weeks, the Ukrainians have put up strong opposition to Russian forces, and most of all Ukrainian territory is still in their hands, including the largest cities.

Stewart, who led the UN forces in 1992 and 1993, praises the high morale of the Ukrainian people.

– They defend their country and their morale is very high, he says.

Declining morale

Stewart further says that morale among Russian forces seems to be declining. Reports of declining morale have come from several quarters over the past three weeks, including from the US government.

– We do not have insight into every single unit and every position. But we have definitely picked up anecdotal indications that morale is not high in several units, a senior US official in the Pentagon told the news agency DPA on Thursday.

The official further emphasized that it is worth noting that the Russian defense is allegedly considering bringing in reinforcements.

Struggling in the air

Most recently in an intelligence report from the British Ministry of Defense on Sunday night, it is claimed that Russia is still struggling to take control of Ukraine’s airspace.

“The Ukrainian Air Force and their forces continue to effectively defend Ukrainian airspace,” the report said.

Russia is heavily dependent on long-range weapons fired from Russian airspace to attack targets in Ukraine, according to the intelligence report.

– Gaining control of the air was one of Russia’s main goals for the opening days of the conflict, and their long-standing failure to do so has significantly delayed their operational progress.
