“I immediately accepted the request of Karl De Vries, educator at the Rebonds association, for a first contact with our club”, confided to us the president of the USCP, Guy Lamarque, welcoming, at the Jean Azpiroz stadium, the twenty young visitors, girls and boys, and their companions. On the program, visit of the facilities, exchanges on the rugby school, the functioning of the club and its values, then convivial meal, prepared by the volunteers, taken together.
Created in 2004 in Toulouse by former professional rugby players, the “Rebonds” association, with its 54 employees, now covers 8 departments of Occitanie (31, 09, 32, 34, 30, 81 , 65, 82).
Laure Vivé, social coordinator of the Comminges, Gers, Hautes-Pyrénées branch, passionate about her profession, explains the association’s objective to us: “to support, through integration through education and sport, young people in situation of fragility”. If the target population favors the Political Districts of the City (QPV), it can also, as in the Hautes-Pyrénées, affect rural areas. Like the 56 rugby clubs already partners, the USCP and its rugby school are working on the preparation of a common action, in the spirit advocated by the FFR and the League, to be finalized by an agreement with Rebonds, for about fifteen young people from the department living with their family or with a host family or placed in a home.
Approved by the National Education, very close to the school and the teachers, the association “continuously accompanies children between the ages of 6 and 17, on their life course beyond the sport, in search of their fulfillment. staff, and also offers parenting support”. This aid can be extended to young people aged 17 to 30 in professional integration.
