Sun lounger, straw drinks, charming company. We see film legend Uschi Glas (80) completely relaxed, with headphones on her ears – she seems to be on the phone. The location alone is irritating: it’s a senior citizens’ residence in Hamburg…
Glas has been loved by cinema audiences for more than half a century, whether for “Winnetou” (1966) or, decades later, for “Fack ju Göhte” (2013). Her autobiography “I was never a darling” was published in March.
And now? Over, over, film pension? Is the actress retiring?

For Uschi Glas It’s a first: “It’s the first time I’ve been in a retirement home,” she tells BILD. “The Four of Us and the Grandchildren’s Trick” is the working title of the comedy in which she, as grandmother Irene, falls for con artists – and decides to move into a retirement home so as not to be a burden to her children.
But instead of tranquility, she finds friends there who not only turn her life, but also that of the con artists, completely upside down. In addition to Uschi Glas, Katharina Thalbach (70) is also part of the project. The film was written by Grimme Prize-nominated screenwriter Kai Kreuser (31).

Uschi Glas had a lot of fun filming in Hamburg – and the celebrity visit was also a highlight for the residents. They were allowed to take part as extras.
The actress is still really looking forward to her home in Munich, if only because her husband Dieter Hermann, “the love of my life,” as she says, is waiting for her there.
