Carried away by their audience, the Catalans secured victory at the start of the match on Matchday 5 of the Top 14, this Saturday 1 October.
They did it! For two years, Perpignan did not win two games in a row at Aimé-Giral. But after RC Toulon last week, it was Castres who ran into the brave Sang et Or, authors of a heavily controlled first period.
Solid in conquest and driven by Ecochard and Tedder at the hingeextremely complementary, the Catalans were rewarded with three penalties converted by Tedder himself.
Nine toes on their feet, unable to realize their good intentions by hand, while the Castrese struggled to find harmony.
Perfect first period
To the point of spending the first thirty minutes outside the local 22 meters, thwarted by a local titanium defense.
And as if that weren’t enough due to the indiscipline, Castres Babillot captain received a yellow card just before half-time.
A temporary sanction that the CO was about to pay in cash, Illico, after Ecochard, at the cost of a flash, allows its Taumeopeau center to joyfully dive into the goal area.
With a more substantial bench than Perpignan, the Castres had to offer something else later. He will do it.
Like the former Catalan, Adréa Cocagi threw all the iron into the Catalan defense to score her team’s only try. More aggressive, otherwise organized and collectively incisive, the Tarnais turned the heads of the Catalans. But it will not be enough to change the situation.
With this sensational victory, the Catalans no longer retreat after five days of racing.

“Even with broken arms …”
Lucas Velarte (third line of Usap): “We scored fourteen points in the first half, but we didn’t score any sequels and that put us in the red. There was a way to head them, but we were inaccurate, too quick to score a second try. We fight like dogs and we deserve to continue, an important match awaits us at the Stade Français. ” Mathieu Acébes (Usap’s captain and winger): “I have a sense of pride. We played against a team used to the Top 6 and the difference was in the mood. It’s a marathon competition and even with no stars in the team, even with broken arms, we did well what! We’ll see at the end … “
