The Higher University Council (CSU) of the University of San Carlos de Guatemala (Usac), announced that they will support the National Strike announced for tomorrow, Thursday, for which they suspended administrative and academic activities, so that social demands are met, they reported through of a statement.
However, they assured that the vaccination posts enabled in the different university facilities should continue to operate normally.
In addition, they said that they hope that the initiative will result in actions to eradicate corruption and for the rule of law to prevail in a context of union and national dialogue.

Therefore, they demanded that the State respect and guarantee the exercise of the right to peacefully and publicly express their demands, as well as the requests to the institutional authorities of the country.
At the same time, they asked the Guatemalan population to ensure compliance with the rule of law, as well as to respect the health guidelines that guarantee the physical integrity and health of those who will participate in the demonstrations.
While the university community urged to maintain the commitment to study and propose solutions to the complex social situation facing the country.
