Team USA (2-0) looks to keep things going against Germany (1-1) on Sunday, February 13, following a big win over Canada on Saturday, February 12.

USA vs. Men’s Olympic Hockey Preview Germany
Team USA will look to reverse their slow-start trend against Germany on Sunday, February 13.
The US settled Canada with a 4-2 victory after falling 1-0 in the first period on Saturday, February 12. Similarly against China on Thursday, February 10, the US only led 1-0 and was outscored 16-11 in the first period. period before the Americans stepped up the offensive and crushed the Chinese 8-0.
Germany did the opposite in their last outing against China on Saturday. The Germans started fast with a 3-0 lead in the early part of the second period, but China bounced back with a goal in the second and third periods to make things too close for comfort.

USA captain Andy Miele liked how his team responded to Canada’s experience and physique.
“We didn’t back down from their physical game,” Miele said according to Wyshynski. “I love the way our team responded. I am very proud of this group. We take a beating. They kept going, we kept coming back to them and we got the result we deserved.”
Germany, which opened the Olympic game against Canada, did not back down against the Canadians after falling 3-0 on Thursday, February 10. The Germans managed a two-goal game in the second period, 3-1, but the Canadians pulled away a couple of minutes later.
“The most important thing for us is to play fast,” US forward Sean Farrell told the Associated Press. “We’ve got a lot of guys that can play fast, and if we add that physical component as well, it’s going to be very difficult for teams to break pucks, and when we deliver them we have the ability to capitalize on them.”
