WASHINGTON, Nov. 10 (Reuters) – Unemployment claims fell last week in the United States to 267,000 from 271,000 (revised) the previous week, the Labor Department said on Wednesday.
Economists expected an average of 265,000 jobless claims.
Registrations for the week to October 30 have been revised up from an initial estimate of 269,000.
The four-week moving average stands at 278,000 compared to 285,250 (revised) the week before.
The number of people receiving regular benefits fell to 2.095 million during the week to October 30 (last week for which these figures are available) against 2.101 million the previous week.
