WASHINGTON, Nov. 24 (Reuters) – Unemployment claims fell in the United States during the week to Nov. 20, to 199,000 from 270,000 (revised) the previous week, the Labor Department said on Wednesday.
Economists expected an average of 260,000 jobless claims.
Registrations for the week to November 13 have been revised up from an initial estimate of 268,000.
The four-week moving average stands at 252,250 compared to 273,250 (revised) the week before.
The number of people receiving regular benefits amounted to 2.049 million during the week to November 13 (last week for which these figures are available) against 2.109 million the previous week.
