The Republican National Committee (RNC) voted on Friday to appoint Michael Whatley and Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law (wife of his son Eric), Lara Trump as the new chairman and co-chair respectively.
The appointment of Whatley and… Trump, as reported by the American media, is the expected development, which confirms that the former US president is in complete control of the Republican party, despite the fact that a large part of the voters, and a small part of his staff opposes his omnipotence.
It is noted that a month ago, Lara Trump, a former television producer, had promised while campaigning for the position of co-chair to spend “every penny” of RNC funds to ensure the re-election of her father-in-law.
Speaking to Newsmax, he had stated: “The RNC must turn into the most agile, deadliest political war machine we’ve ever seen in American history… That’s the goal for the next nine and a half months. If elected to this position, I can assure you that another $70,000 – or whatever exorbitant amount it was – will not be spent on… flowers.”
“Every penny will go to the RNC’s No. 1 and only job — which is to elect Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States and save this country,” he had argued.
