USA: Trump and Biden rivals again in the presidential election – 2024-03-15 20:26:09

Joe Biden and Donald Trump have secured the required number of delegates for the upcoming Democratic and Republican conventions, respectively, and – barring a shocking prospect – will face off on November 5 for the second time in a row in the election to elect the President of the United States.

Trump won the required number of delegates (1,215) in the upcoming congress of the Republican party, according to calculations by the Edison Research institute and American media, after the intra-party votes held in four states (Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi, Washington).

It is noted that his last opponent in the race for the Republican nomination, Nikki Haley, dropped out last week.

Joe Biden also received the anointing

Earlier, US President Joe Biden secured the required number of delegates at the upcoming Democratic convention to become the party’s presidential nominee in November, according to calculations by US television networks CNN and NBC after the Georgia caucus, which about which there were not exactly doubts.

Mr. Biden, 81, exceeded the required threshold (1,968 delegates at the convention) to mathematically secure the nomination.

He never faced serious competition in the party and is simply expected to formally receive the anointing at the August congress.
