Shootings took place in Washington, D.C., near the White House on Wednesday night, resulting in one person being killed and five others injured, including two children.
The children, ages 9 and 12, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials confirmed the shooting took place around 6:10 p.m. in the northeastern part of the city and that there are probably two perpetrators on the loose.
During a press conference, they said the investigation is in its early stages, but they believe the suspects got out of the vehicle and started shooting.

During the media briefing, Police Chief Pamela A. Smith expressed her condolences to those affected by Wednesday’s shooting and noted that officers are working to address the recent increase in violence.
