WASHINGTON, Dec.17 (Reuters) – The US Senate on Thursday approved Joe Biden’s decision to appoint diplomat Nicholas Burns as US ambassador to China, as relations between the two countries grow strained.
Nicholas Burns served as US Ambassador to NATO and was Under Secretary of State between 2005 and 2008.
It has not been specified when Nicholas Burns will travel to China, nor if he will leave before the Beijing Winter Olympics, which will be held next February.
