Ukrainian nuclear power plants will provide American nuclear fuel, Queen promised.
The United States promises to assist in ensuring the stability of energy supplies to Ukraine, in particular for nuclear energy. This was stated by the US Charge d’Affaires in Ukraine Christina Queen at a meeting with Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko, informs Ministry of Energy.
The parties discussed the issues of sustainable passage of the heating season in Ukraine in the face of energy aggression from Russia.
Galushchenko recalled that the Russian Federation has blocked the supply of coal by rail, and Ukraine has reoriented itself to deliveries by sea.
The meeting also discussed the situation with a significant reduction in the volume of Russian gas transit through Ukraine.
The parties discussed cooperation in ensuring reliable and uninterrupted operation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants during the heating season, including technical support and stable replenishment of fuel supplies.
Queen assured that the United States is ready to assist Ukraine in ensuring the stability of energy supplies, in particular for nuclear energy, and strengthening Ukraine’s energy security.
At the meeting, the parties paid special attention to the issue of synchronizing the energy system of Ukraine with the European ENTSO-E.
We will remind, recently the Cabinet of Ministers approved nuclear industry development plan… The five-year program provides for the development of domestic production of uranium and zirconium and the construction of new facilities at the deposits.
