USA-Private sector created more jobs than expected in December-ADP – 01/05/2022 at 2:37 pm

(Updated with details)

WASHINGTON, Jan. 5 (Reuters) – The private sector in the United States created more than twice the jobs expected in December, a sign of the strength of the labor market, the monthly ADP survey showed on Wednesday.

Job creation amounted to 807,000 last month, while economists polled by Reuters forecast an average of 400,000.

Job creations for the month of November were for their part revised down to 505,000 instead of the 534,000 initially announced.

On Wall Street, index futures, which indicate a lower opening, reacted little after the release of this indicator as the yield on ten-year US Treasuries US10YT = RR fell back to 1.668%.
