Usa, Pfizer vaccine: severe allergic reaction on a health worker

USA, REACTION TO VACCINE IN ALASKA, ‘GET ANTIALLERGIC DRUGS’

After the first reports in Britain, a health worker in Alaska was also hospitalized for what is presumed to be an adverse reaction to the Pfizer / BionTech anti-Covid vaccine. Health authorities explain that the worker is in stable condition but remains in the hospital for monitoring after suffering an anaphylactic reaction with shortness of breath 10 minutes after receiving the vaccine dose on Tuesday. The worker had no history of allergies, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services said in a statement.

“We expected a side effect like this to occur after reports of anaphylaxis in England following the administration of the Pfizer-BionTech vaccine,” Anne Zink, Alaska’s Chief Medical Officer, said in a statement. “All sites licensed to vaccinate in Alaska must have drugs on hand to deal with an allergic reaction, and that was the case,” she added. In Great Britain, authorities have advised against administration to people with a history of severe allergic reactions.
