(AOF) – In the United States, consumer prices rose 0.5% in December, against a consensus of +0.4% after +0.8% in November. Over one year, prices rose by 7% in line with expectations after +6.8% in November. This increase is the largest since February 1982. Excluding energy and food, inflation stands at 0.6%. Economists were counting on +0.5%, as in November. Over one year, this “core” inflation comes out at 5.5% against a consensus of 5.4% after 4.9% in November.
