PARIS, December 23 (Reuters) – American household morale has improved markedly since the start of December compared to the previous month, final results of the University of Michigan’s monthly survey show on Thursday.
Its confidence index advanced 70.6 after 67.4 in November, while economists and analysts polled by Reuters forecast an average of 70.4. As a first estimate, the index came out at 70.4 on December 10.
The component of consumers’ judgment on their current situation fell 74.2 from 73.6 last month and a preliminary estimate 74.6.
