USA Hockey Players Win Gold at Under-20 World Cup, Czech Players Enjoy Bronze

GÖTEBORG – USA hockey players won gold medals at the Under-20 World Cup in Sweden. In Friday’s final, they beat the home team 6:2 and won their country’s sixth title in this age category.

They replaced Canada on the imaginary throne, which triumphed in the previous two championships. The Czechs enjoyed the bronze, who in the end turned the tide of the match for 3rd place with Finland and triumphed 8:5.

Slovakian hockey players took sixth place in the tournament when they were not enough for the Finnish national team in the quarter-finals and lost 3:4 after extra time. Despite the fact that Slovakia had a large number of stars at the tournament, not one of them made it to the selection of the best.

The award for the most useful player of the tournament went to the Swedish striker Jonathan Lekkerimäki, who was the best scorer of the tournament with seven goals. The first place in productivity was occupied by the Czech Jiří Kulich, who collected 12 Canadian points (6+6) as well as Cutter Gauthier (2+10). All three made the All star team according to the media.
