USA: Harris-Trump, head to head in seven key states

(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, 11 OTT – There is still a big dispute between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump in the seven undecided states, according to a survey by The Wall Street Journal, with the vice president with a slight advantage in Arizona (+2%), Michigan (+2%), Wisconsin (+1%) and Georgia (+1%) in elections that include independent and third-party candidates. Trump is slightly ahead in North Carolina (+1%) and Pennsylvania (+1%), while in Nevada he registers a jump (+5%). But no lead is more than 2 percentage points, except for the mogul’s 5 points in Nevada, which, like the others, essentially falls within the poll’s margin of error. In the full sample of 4,200 voters from swing states, the tycoon obtained 46% and his rival 45%. If Harris were to win in the states where she leads the polls, the WSJ notes, she would obtain a narrow majority in the electoral college and therefore win. The survey also shows that neither candidate managed to win a significant proportion of voters from the opposing party. Trump has 93% of Republicans in the seven states, the same as Harris among Democrats. Independent voters are also evenly divided: 40% for the vice president, 39% for her opponent. Finally, voters in seven key states believe Donald Trump is better equipped than Harris to handle the issues that matter most to them, namely the economy (50% to 40%) and border security (52% to 36%) in other issues such as sustainability of housing costs (45% to 42%), healthcare (48% to 40%), empathy (46% to 40%). The tycoon is ahead in defending American workers (47% to 45%). (ANSA).
