USA-Federal Court Raises Unfavorable Vaccine Requirement – 11/06/2021 at 8:39 PM

WASHINGTON, Nov. 6 (Reuters) – The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on Saturday issued a judgment unfavorable to the vaccination requirement decided by the Biden administration for tens of millions of American employees, believing that this measure raised “serious” constitutional problems.

The US administration announced Thursday that employees of companies with more than 100 people, medical personnel and employees of federal agency contractors should be vaccinated by January 4, or face weekly tests.

The appeals court had been seized by several Republican states (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Utah) and private companies. Appeals have been lodged with other jurisdictions in the country.

The measure Joe Biden announced in September would apply to 84.6 million workers, according to health officials.
