USA, China | The USA with a clear warning: – Must never happen again

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has warned China that the incident in which an alleged Chinese spy balloon flew over US territory must never be repeated.

Blinken met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Munich on Saturday evening, for the first high-level talks since the balloon shooting.

In the talks, Blinken also warned Wang about the “consequences and consequences if China provides material support to Russia”, says Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ned Price.

– The United States will never allow violations of our sovereignty. We gave notice that they must never repeat themselves, says Price., according to CNN.

In the meeting, Wang Yi did not apologize for the balloon incident, and Blinken denied that the US overreacted, reports NBC.

Blinken was actually supposed to travel to China at the beginning of February, as the first American foreign minister since 2018.

However, the visit was postponed at the last minute after the Americans discovered a Chinese balloon in American airspace. The US believes it was a spy balloon, and on 4 February an American fighter jet shot the balloon down off the coast of South Carolina.

China rejects this and maintains that it was a weather balloon that went astray. On Saturday, Wang described the US’s handling of the incident as absurd and hysterical.

– We made it clear that the balloon was civilian and had limited control. We asked the US to handle this calmly and professionally. Unfortunately, the United States did not do this, Wang said from the podium at the security conference in Munich on Saturday.

Late on Saturday evening, the AP news agency reports that Wang and Blinken are in talks in Munich.
