“Although it is true that we have not yet reached the objective, I think that having this second opportunity to achieve the objective is what we rescue the most,” said Mexican Ignacio Quintana, technical director of Panama. “These heavy blows we received, especially in the first game (3-0 loss to Costa Rica), served to bring the group closer together.”
In this way, the semifinals will be played on Thursday under the following pairings: United States-Costa Rica and Canada-Jamaica.
The tournament champion will qualify directly for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games and the 2024 Gold Cup.
The runner-up and the third place will play a playoff for the second pass to the Olympic Games.
