Some 2.6 million children aged 5 to 12 have already been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the United States, said Jeff Zients, the White House pandemic coordinator on Wednesday. ‘About 10% of children in this age group received their first dose of vaccine in the first ten days of the campaign after approval of the BioNTech / Pfizer vaccine for this age group. Young Americans can get vaccinated in 30,000 places, 10,000 more than last week. According to Jeff Zients, the pace has accelerated considerably. Authorization has also been requested in Europe to administer the same vaccine to children aged 5 to 12. A decision from the pharmaceutical authority EMA is expected before Christmas. (Belga)
