According to Blinken, in a conversation with China’s State Counselor and Director of the CCP Foreign Office Headquarters Wang Yi, he “had the opportunity to share very real US concerns about China’s support for Russia.”

“What we’ve seen over the last few years is, of course, some political and rhetorical support, even some non-lethal support,” Blinken said, as quoted by the TASS news agency.
“However, we are deeply concerned that China is considering providing lethal support to Russia,” the US secretary of state continued.
According to Blinken, providing “lethal support” to Russia would have “serious consequences (for Beijing) in (China-US) relations”. Blinken also cautioned that this is something that “President [Joe] Biden shares with the President [Cina] Xi [Jinping] on several occasions.”

In late January, John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator at the US National Security Council, said the US was urging China not to support Russia’s special military operations in Ukraine.
According to him, Washington intends to take action against these companies, including Chinese companies, which violate the US sanctions regime against Moscow.
