US Warns Chinese Companies Against Supporting Russian Military Efforts

According to Yelena, this issue was raised during a two-day meeting with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng. The minister expressed his concern that the military equipment, avoiding sanctions, goes to Russia.

“I emphasized that companies should not provide material support to the Russian defense industry and that they face significant consequences if they do so,”

She warned that any companies supporting Russia’s military efforts could face sanctions. Yelena added that the US government has already sanctioned a number of private companies, including in China, that are helping Russia buy equipment, as well as some financial institutions that may be aiding the effort.

However, the head of the US Treasury did not provide any details about the names of the companies involved or the reaction of the Chinese vice premier.

Yelena emphasized that the Chinese companies in question were private and said she did not think it was with the Chinese government’s notice.
