With a president being treated for corona, the debate between the two vice presidential candidates suddenly becomes a lot more important. The vice president is “a heartbeat from the presidency.” The replacement if something happens to the incumbent president. Trump’s contamination puts that, but also corona itself back in the spotlight. That is visible on the podium. There is more distance between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris and there is a large plexiglass wall between “Trump’s conservative anchor” and “Biden’s merciless prosecutor.”
