US vaccinate 3.5 million people in one day

In the United States, 3.5 million doses of corona vaccines were administered on Saturday. That’s what White House adviser Andy Slavitt said on Twitter. This immediately set the brand new record set on Friday – 3.4 million doses.

More than 3 million people were vaccinated for the third day in a row on Sunday, according to the White House. According to the US health authority CDC, more than 143 million doses of vaccines against COVID-19 have been administered across the US to date. More than 36 percent of adults received a first injection, 20 percent were fully vaccinated. 328 million people live in the US.

The Americans are currently vaccinating with three vaccines: Moderna and Pfizer / BioNTech, of which two doses must be administered, and Johnson & Johnson, of which one dose is sufficient.

US President Joe Biden had promised before his inauguration on January 20 that at least 100 million vaccines would be administered during the first 100 days of his presidency. That goal was reached a few days ago, after less than sixty days in his tenure. Biden has therefore doubled his original goal: after his first hundred days, a total of 200 million injections must now have been made.
