(CercleFinance.com) – The number of registrations for unemployment benefits in the United States fell by 10,000 during the week of August 14, standing at 230,000 according to the Department of Labor against 240,000 the previous week (figure revised by compared to 239,000).
The four-week moving average – considered a better indicator of the underlying trend in the employment market – shows an increase of 2,250 in the number of registrations compared to the previous week, to stand at 236,750.
Finally, the number of people regularly receiving benefits fell by 9,000 to 1,702,000 during the week of August 7, ie the most recent period available for this statistic.
