While several European countries have announced that they will supply US-designed fighter jets to Ukraine, Washington will train pilots for Volodymyr Zelensky’s army starting in September.
Ukrainian pilots will be trained from September by the United States on the F-16 fighter model, the Pentagon announced on Thursday.
“These pilots will take English training” in Texas in September, before “taking part in pilot training” in Arizona, in the southwestern United States, the following month, said the spokesperson for the Pentagon, General Pat Ryder; while Norway announced earlier that it would become the third country – after the Netherlands and Denmark – to supply examples of this American-designed aircraft to Ukraine.
