A US military official revealed that the United States will send F-16 planes to the Gulf region at the end of this week, to provide air cover for ships in the Strait of Hormuz and prevent them from being seized by Iran.

The US official indicated that there is increasing coordination between Iran, Syria and Russia to force the US forces to abandon their points of concentration in northern Syria.

This follows America’s decision to send F-16 fighter jets to the Gulf over the weekend to bolster the A-10 armed jets that have been patrolling there for more than a week.

The military official confirmed that the US forces will continue to fly over the Syrian airspace as part of the fight against ISIS, and that the US is studying military options to confront what he described as the increasing Russian aggression in the airspace of Syria.

According to a Pentagon spokesman told The Associated Press, the actions of Russian aviation “over the weekend made it difficult to target the leader of the Islamic State group,” which is banned from operating in Russia.

The defense official pointed out that the increased activity of the Russian Air Force since March of this year is a result of increased cooperation and coordination between Moscow, Tehran and the Syrian government to try to force the United States to leave Syria, stressing that the United States will not give up territory and will continue flights in the western part of Syria. to combat ISIS.

A Russian military official said that the US-led coalition warplanes violated the Syrian airspace five times in one day in the Al-Tanf area.

The Russian “TASS” news agency quoted Oleg Gorinov, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation between the warring parties in Syria affiliated with the Ministry of Defense, as saying that F-16s and Eurofighter Typhoons violated Syrian airspace in an area crossed by international airlines.

Gorinov warned that such practices could cause air accidents with civilian aircraft.

The Russian official also indicated that 14 violations of the collision avoidance protocols were detected by the coalition drones in Syria during the past 24 hours.
