According to him, high-precision projectiles for use in howitzer artillery systems already in Ukraine are what the US Army has on its own. The systems are new as the US will send them to Ukraine for the first time.

The senior defense official stressed that there is US commitment to continue to help Ukraine maintain independence, obviously and will continue for as long as it takes.
“In terms of aid security, it is now a stable drumbeat and this is a long-term commitment to Ukraine. We will be ready for whatever experts on the battlefield tell us,” the official said.
