An “increased missile threat” was cited as the main reason, and it warned that conditions could deteriorate “suddenly and sharply”.
The US Embassy in Kyiv has urged Americans to leave Ukraine immediately for security reasons.
“The U.S. Embassy urges U.S. citizens not to enter Ukraine, and those already in Ukraine to leave Ukraine immediately, using available ground transportation options if safe to do so,” the embassy alert said, quoted from BGNES.
The US Embassy is warning its compatriots not to join “large gatherings” and not to participate in “organized events”. The message cited an “increased missile threat” in Ukraine as the main reason for the warning.
American diplomats are advising their fellow citizens in Ukraine to “immediately seek shelter” in the event of loud explosions or the activation of air-raid sirens, as well as to stay away from “debris” from missile launches. The embassy also stressed that “falling debris” could pose a threat in the event of a missile or drone interception.
According to the assessment of the American diplomatic mission, “the security situation throughout Ukraine is extremely unstable and conditions can deteriorate suddenly and sharply.”
