Ukraine negotiated the purchase of four MQ-1C Gray Eagle reconnaissance drones.

The United States has decided to suspend the sale of four MQ-1C Gray Eagle attack drones to Ukraine due to fears that their secret equipment will fall into the hands of Russia, writes Reuters.

The Pentagon’s Office of Defense Technology Security, which is tasked with guarding high-value technology, opposed the supply of drones.

The agency has expressed concerns that the radar and drone surveillance equipment could pose a security risk to the US if it falls into Russian hands. It is noted that this consideration was overlooked at the initial consideration, but surfaced in the negotiations at the end of last week.

According to the publication, the Pentagon continues to think about the deal.

“One solution could be to replace the existing radar and sensor complex with a simplified version, but it could take months to develop and install,” the report says.

Earlier, the US Air Force developed a new system Phoenix Ghost drones to meet the needs of Ukraine.

The day before, the Pentagon published a list of everything arms transferred to Ukraine during the war with Russia.
