US Supreme Court dismisses lawsuit against election results in Pennsylvania

In their attempts to challenge the results of the presidential election on November 3, Donald Trump and his supporters suffered another heavy defeat. The Supreme Court, the highest court in the United States, refused to invalidate the election result already certified by the Governor of Pennsylvania. US media emphasized that the Supreme Court reached its decision without much consultation and that nothing was reported about dissenting opinions from individual judges. Apparently the court ruled unanimously. This is remarkable because 6 of the 9 members of the court are believed to be Republican supporters. Trump appointed two conservative judges and one female judge himself. The reason for the lawsuit was a law on handling postal votes that the state had passed before one. Trump, however, repeated his accusation that hundreds of thousands of votes had been stolen from him. According to the partly provisional results, the Democratic challenger Joe Biden won the election with a lead of 6 million votes. Biden also has a whopping majority of the electorate who will finally elect the president.
