The judges, in a brief injunction, dismissed the case brought by Texas against four states where Biden got the majority, but where Trump won four years ago. These are Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. According to Texas, the four states were at fault. They changed election procedures in connection with the corona crisis, but that would have been illegal.
However, the Supreme Court rules that Texas has no legal standing to file the claim. “Texas has shown no apparent legal interest in how another state conducts its elections,” the order said.
The Supreme Court has a conservative 6-to-3 majority, including three justices appointed by Trump. Two Conservative Chief Justices, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas, said they would have allowed Texas to file the case, but they would not have blocked the four states from finalizing their election results.
Since the election, Trump has claimed almost incessantly, without providing evidence, that Biden won by committing electoral fraud. The president filed dozens of lawsuits to change the outcome in his favor, but those cases were all lost.
