US Stock Market Indices Experience Declines, Morgan Stanley and Tesla Perform Poorly, Oil Sector Stocks Gain

The main US stock indices have recorded declines in the order of 1-2%.

The Dow Jones suffered a decline of 0.98% to 33,665 points, while the S&P500 dropped 1.34% to 4,315 points. Worst performance for the Nasdaq (-1.62% to 13,314 points).

Definitely bad day for Morgan Stanley (-6.77% to 74.89 dollars), after the release of the financial results for the 3rd quarter of 2023, the period closed with a profit per share of 1.38 dollars, lower than the 1.47 dollars obtained in the same months of the last year; analyst consensus indicated earnings per share of $1.3.

Tesla is also bad (-4.78%), before the release of the quarterly results.

Positive performance for oil sector stocks, after the price of crude oil in New York (contract expiring in November 2023) exceeded 88 dollars a barrel. Chevron and Exxon Mobil gained 0.79% and 1.4%, respectively.
