The Dow Jones made progress of 0.39% to 33,130 points, while the S&P500 closed up by 0.81% to 4,264 points. Better performance for the Nasdaq (+1.35% to 13,236 points).
Intel closed on a positive note (+0.67% to $35.93). The chip giant announced plans to separate its Programmable Solutions Group operations into a standalone business.
Negative closing for oil sector stocks, after the price of crude oil in New York (contract expiring in November 2023) slipped below $85 a barrel. Chevron and Exxon Mobil lost 2.33% and 3.74%, respectively.
