US stock indices were up at the end of today’s session; The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.56%.
Investing.com – US stocks were higher after Tuesday’s close as gains in , and sectors pushed stocks higher.
At the close of trading in New York it was up 0.56%, while it consolidated its position at 0.70% and was up 1.01%.
Among today’s top stocks was Dow Inc (NYSE:NYSE), which rose 2.15%, or 1.19 points, to close at 56.47. On the other hand, Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:) added 1.58% or 3.89 points to close at 250.51, while Verizon Communications (NYSE:) added 1.40% or 0.58 points to 41.95 in recent trading.
As for the weaker performer at the end of the trading day, the shares closed Boeing Co (NYSE 🙂 down 0.90%, or 1.88 points, to trade at 206.69 levels at the close. Shares of United Health Group Inc (NYSE:) fell 0.83%, or 4.06 points, to close at 486.00. Coca Cola Co. (NYSE 🙂 closed down 0.77%, or 0.48 points, at 62.13.
The best performance of the Standard & Poor’s 500 index was instead recorded by Warner Bros Discovery Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose by 8.18%, to a price of 12.56, Nucor Corp (NYSE:) also continued its gains 7.15% to close at 151.16, while United Airlines Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) was up 5.54% to close at 45.75.
Among the underperforming stocks today we mention the stock of the company DISH network Corp (NASDAQ:), which fell 6.26%, to close the session at 14.83, Illumina Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 6.20%, to 194.45, and The share. Mosaic Company (NYSE:), which weakened 5.02% and closed at 44.83 in today’s trading session.
The best performer on the Nasdaq was Biora Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 155.92% to a price of 5.40. Sotera Health (NASDAQ:) also continued its rally to 99 ,65% and closed at 17.25 Arrow levels DataChat Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 climbed 59.22% and closed trades at 0.57.
Among the stocks that underperformed today were Bio Atla (NASDAQ:), which fell 46.24%, and closed the session at 4.15, BIOLASE Inc (NASDAQ:) , which lost 44.95%, to a price of 0.38, and a share of Ider Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:), which weakened by 29.34% and closed today’s session at 0.46.
The number of gainers surpassed the number of stocks that finished lower on the New York Stock Exchange with 2,200 versus 853, while 94 remained unchanged. On the Nasdaq stock exchange, 2653 stocks strengthened their positions and 1040 withdrew, while 153 stocks held their value.
Shares of Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:) edged to an all-time high, climbing 1.58%, or 3.89 points, to a price of 250.51. Shares of BIOLASE Inc (NASDAQ: ) fell to an all-time low, falling 44.95%, or 0.31 points, to 0.38.

Dollar index futures were trading 0.26% higher to hit 103.01.
