US Stock Indices Surge: Dow Jones Hits Record High; IBM, Caterpillar, and United Rentals Make Strong Gains

At the end of trading in New York, it increased by 0.64%, reaching an all-time record high, while it rose by about 0.53% and climbed by about 0.18%.

Among the leading stocks today was IBM (NYSE:), whose value rose 9.53%, or 16.57 points, to reach 190.50 at the close. On the other hand, Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:) shares continued to rise at 3.48%, or 10.11 points, and closed at 300.79, while Dow Inc. (NYSE:) shares increased by 3.45%, or 1.83 points, to 54.92 at the end of the session.

As for the weakest performance at the end of today’s trading, Boeing Co (NYSE:) shares closed down 5.71%, or 12.23 points, and traded at 201.90 levels at the close. UnitedHealth Group Inc. (NYSE:) shares declined by 3.88%, or 19.93 points, at a price of 493.30, while McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:) shares closed down by 1.08%, or 3.24 points, at 297.20.

On the other hand, the best performance in the Standard & Poor’s 500 index was recorded by United Rentals (NYSE:), which rose by 12.96% at a price of 651.64. American Airlines Group (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 10.27% and closed at Levels of 15.36, and IBM (NYSE:) stock rose about 9.53% and ended its trading at 190.50.

Among the weakest performing stocks today, we mention Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:), which fell by 12.13% and closed its session at 182.63, Humana Inc. (NYSE:), which lost 11.59% at 355.76, and Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: ), which weakened by 6.20% and closed at 435.15 today’s session on the stock exchange.

On the other hand, the best performance in the Nasdaq index was recorded by Processa Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose by 148.78% at a price of 5.10, Onconetix Inc (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 129.73% and closed at 0.34 levels, Likewise, Vera Therapeutics (NASDAQ:) stock rose about 48.71% and ended its trading at 25.31.

Among the weakest performing stocks today, we mention Redhill Biopharma Ltd (NASDAQ:), which fell by 39.85% and closed its session at 0.65, FaZe Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:), which lost 25.91% at 0.26, and Intelligent Bio. Solutions Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell by 24.97% to close at 0.23 in today’s session on the stock exchange.

The number of shares that gained more exceeded the number of shares that closed on a lower trading basis on the New York Stock Exchange, with 2170 compared to 696, while 81 remained unchanged. As for the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1,968 of the stocks strengthened their position, 1,422 declined, while 144 of the stocks maintained their value.
