The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the trading session higher by 56.81 points, or 0.2%, to reach 37,305.16 points.

The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 index lost 0.36 points, or less than 0.1%, to reach 4,719.19 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index of technology stocks increased 52.36 points, or 0.4%, to 14,813.92 points.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average indexes declined at the open on Friday.
This came after comments from a Federal Reserve official (the US central bank) led to a decline in sentiment that had risen recently.
Dow Jones Industrial Average
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 53.85 points, or 0.14 percent, to 37,194.50 points.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell by 5.32 points, or 0.11 percent, to 4,714.23 points.
While the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 35.90 points, or 0.24 percent, to 14,797.46 points.
