US Stock Indexes Close in Negative Territory After Employment Data, Amazon Soars while Apple Slumps

The main US stock indexes closed the last session of the week in negative territory, after the employment data in July.

The Dow Jones lost 0.43% to 35,066 points, while the S&P500 fell 0.53% to 4,478 points. Similar performance for the Nasdaq (-0.36% at 13,909 points).

A decidedly positive day for Amazon.com (+8.27% to $139.57), after the release of the financial results for the 2nd quarter of 2023.

On the contrary, the quarterly did not impress Apple (-4.8% to 181.99 dollars).
