He denies the allegations of raping a 14-year-old 37 years ago. But all the denials do not protect Timothy Hutton (59) from the fact that his series “Almost Family” has now been sold by Fox, according to an insider.
Ex-model Sera Johnston gave the Buzzfeed News website an interview. In it, she described how she and two friends met the Oscar winner in Vancouver in 1983. The then 22-year-old then invited the teen girl to his hotel room at the Denman Place Inn.
There he and a friend of the minors are said to have offered alcohol. Johnston first told the men that she was 17 years old. She later admitted that she was only 14. Hutton then brought Johnston to his bedroom. When she asked him to go again, he replied: «Everything will be fine. It will be alright. It won’t be long, you’ll be fine. »

The actor is said to have raped her while a friend was watching them. Johnston: «It hurt like hell. It was very painful. God. Yes, it was very painful. Terrible, terrible, absolutely terrible. » According to the 50-year-old, Hutton’s boyfriend forced her to have oral sex and did not care that she cried and begged him to stop.
Buzzfeed News claims to have found six people who confirm Johnston’s statements – including her mother and one of the friends who was with Johnston in 1983 at Hutton’s hotel.
It wasn’t until 2017 that Johnston went to a lawyer at the zenith of the “MeToo” movement against Hutton, demanding a compensation of $ 1.5 million in damages. The two parties agreed on a sum of $ 135,000 – until Johnston decided not to accept the settlement. The reason: “He didn’t have to admit that he had done something wrong.”

Instead, she filed a complaint with the Vancouver police in 2018 for raping Hutton. The investigation against the actor is still ongoing. His lawyer denies: «My client never met Johnston in his life. She made up the allegations completely to blackmail him for money. Everything is an infamous lie. »

Hutton had won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1980 for “Ordinary People” as the youngest actor of all time. In his drama series, Hutton plays a fertility doctor who creates dozens of children with his own DNA. The first season with 13 episodes had just ended in February.
