US Sends Warship to Black Sea, This Is Russia’s Response

MOSCOW – Russia admits that he is concerned about the increasing activity of foreign countries that do not have a coastline in the Black Sea region. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Aleksandr Grushko.

Commenting on the information about the arrival of two warships United States of America (US), Grushko said the entry into the Black Sea by the warships of the countries NATO and the duration of their presence has increased recently.

“The responsibility for maintaining security in the Black Sea belongs to the Black Sea state itself, which has created all the necessary tools for this, including Black Sea Economic Cooperation,” Grushko told Russian news agency Interfax. Anatolia, Saturday (10/4/2021).

Previously, an office Pentagon told reporters that the US is considering sending warships to the Black Sea in the coming weeks. It comes amid a large Russian military buildup on the border Ukraine .

He reminded that under the Montreux Convention, the US had to notify Turkey 14 days in advance of planned ship trips via Dardanella and the Bosphorus.

On Friday, Turkey said it received notice of the passage of two U.S. naval ships through the Turkish Strait.

“The ships will enter the Black Sea separately on April 14 and 15, and will remain there until May 4 and 5,” according to Turkish diplomatic sources.
