US Senator Wants Confidential Documents Seized From Trump Mansion – Bloomberg

The chairman and vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee has called on the government to provide classified documents seized during the FBI’s search of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. Pressure is mounting from lawmakers over the details of the document.

The commission’s chairman Warner (Democratic) and Rubio (Republican) said they “recognise the need to protect ongoing criminal investigations,” but called on the Department of Justice and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) to Warner’s spokeswoman, Rachel Cohen, said on the 14th.

Cohen said in a statement that he had asked both agencies to provide the commission with “assessments of the national security risks that could result from classified documents seized in the Mar-a-Lago search and their mishandling.” News site Axios earlier reported on the matter.

Documents seized from Mar-a-Lago also included top-secret government documents classified as “top secret and classified information,” according to a search warrant and a list of seized items released on Wednesday.

In response, House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Maloney and Intelligence Committee Chairman Schiff wrote to Director of National Intelligence Haynes on Tuesday asking for a “damage assessment.”
