He has repeatedly referred to France, where the deadline for voluntary termination of pregnancy is 14 weeks.

The proposal aroused outrage on the Democratic side. The text “would deprive women of their rights in all 50 states,” White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said. “Make no mistake, if given the chance, Republicans will pass even more draconian laws than this,” added US House Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
