The United States is facing a new and significant outbreak of COVID-19. The country’s chief epidemiologist, Anthony Fauci, said the disease could spread rapidly with 100,000 new infections a day, the British broadcaster told the BBC.
On Tuesday, June 30, the number of new confirmed infections was more than 40,000, and this number was registered for the fourth time in five days. Fauci, the chief epidemiologist in the United States, said Florida, Arizona, Texas and California are currently the hardest hit.
