US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken confirmed that Russia plans to invade Ukraine in the near future.

He said this in an interview with Russian TV channel “Rain“.

“Unfortunately, as we see now, everything is going exactly as I said a few days ago at the UN Security Council. There is a fabrication of provocations, which is then used as a justification for Russian military intervention in the Donbass and, more broadly, in Ukraine,” the American official said.

Asked about the credibility of published intelligence regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Blinken said:

“We are quite confident in the information that we have. And, as I said the other day at the UN Security Council, I admit that in the past we have come up with information that turned out to be inaccurate. But we are quite confident in our information. And we endure her into public space, not to start a war, but to prevent a war.”

He added that if the US has to respond to Russian aggression, then it will be done. Blinken also confirmed that all previously published scenarios for an attack on Ukraine were considered by the President of the Russian Federation.

As for a possible meeting between Joe Biden and Putin, Blinken did not reject it, although he did state a condition.

“President Biden is always ready to meet if we think it’s good for diplomacy and the world,” he explained.

Recall that during yesterday’s video message Biden statedthat Putin has decided to carry out a further invasion of Ukraine. “We have reason to believe that Russian forces are planning to try to attack Ukraine in the next week – in the coming days,” the US President stressed.

The threat of a new Russian attack

In recent months, Russia has amassed more than 100,000 troops around Ukraine, whom the West fears it could deploy in a full-scale attack.

On February 15, the Russian Defense Ministry announced on the withdrawal of part of the troops to places of permanent deployment. However, neither NATO nor the United States do not confirm signs of de-escalation in the Russian-Ukrainian border area.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during his speech at the Munich Conference said that Ukrainians will not “lie down in coffins” and wait for the Russian militaryBecause they don’t give up.
