US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said today after the meeting of the foreign ministers of the NATO countries that more aid is urgently needed for Ukraine, Reuters reported, BTA reported. The No. 1 US diplomat added that the message from NATO allies is clear – the vote in the US Congress on aid to Ukraine cannot happen soon enough.
Blinken, speaking to reporters at NATO headquarters in Brussels, said support for Ukraine was particularly important because countries such as China, North Korea and Iran were helping Russia build up its defense industrial base.
The US Secretary of State also called on Israel as a democratic country to give the highest importance to human life and to increase the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Blinken stressed that this week’s “horrific attack” on aid workers of the World Central Kitchen in Gaza should be the last such incident.
“There is no more important priority in Gaza right now than protecting the civilian population, increasing humanitarian aid and ensuring the security of those who provide it. Israel must deliver on that,” Blinken told reporters at a news conference in Brussels.
