Washington DC –
United States of America (US) believes some officials Russia recently visited an airfield in Iran to observe drones with attack capabilities. Iran reportedly preparing to provide strike drones for invading Russia Ukraine since February.
As reported ReutersSaturday (16/7/2022), the information was disclosed by US national security adviser Jake Sullivan in his latest statement on Saturday (16/7) local time.
Earlier this week, the US claimed it had information indicating Iran was preparing to provide Russia with hundreds of drones, including several capable of loading weapons. The US also said that Tehran was preparing to train Russian troops to use the drones.

Iran’s foreign minister has flatly denied the US claims.
“We assess that the official Russian delegation recently received a demonstration of an attack-capable UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) from Iran… To our knowledge, this is the first time the Russian delegation has visited the airfield for such a show,” Sullivan said.
Sullivan’s statement also included satellite imagery dated June 8 which it said showed an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) ‘seen by a Russian government delegation that day’.
Sullivan said similar equipment was shown during the second visit of Russian officials to an Iranian airfield on July 5.
