Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Dispute between United States of America and Russia Heated again after US President Joe Biden accused the country of trying to undermine the implementation of general elections in 2020.
Biden even made threatening sentences for Russian President Vladimir Putin. The threat was conveyed by Biden in an interview with ABC News television station regarding US intelligence reports about Russia’s plans to undermine the US presidential election in 2020.
In the interview, Biden called Putin a “killer” and would pay the price for trying to undermine his candidacy in yesterday’s presidential election.
“We actually knew a long time. He and I, I know him quite well. But now, the conversation started, I said, ‘I know you and you know me. If I determine this to happen, then be prepared,” said Biden as quoted from AFP, Last Thursday (18/3).
Biden’s statement immediately sparked a reaction from Moscow. Russia decided to withdraw its ambassador from Washington in reaction to Biden’s remarks.
According to a unified report by the US intelligence community, Russia is trying to undermine Uncle Sam’s elections and presidential elections by carrying out operations to corner the candidacy of President Biden and the Democratic Party, support former President Donald Trump, undermine public confidence in the electoral process, and exacerbate sociopolitical divisions in the US.
The condition was exacerbated by the case involving Russian activist Alexei Navalny. He was suspected of being poisoned by Russian intelligence agents because of his activities which often criticized Putin’s regime.
Navalny is suspected of being poisoned with the nerve substance Novichok. Chemical weapons were developed in Soviet times and can only be accessed by the military and intelligence.
It is suspected that among high-ranking Russian officials, Putin also knew about the plan to kill Navalny.
Navalny, who was treated for about two months in Germany, was immediately arrested when he returned to Russia. He was accused of violating parole and charged in various other cases.
The US has always supported the activities of Navalny and his group to uncover the ulcers of Putin’s government, especially the issue of corruption. They then imposed sanctions on a number of Russian officials and institutions suspected of being involved in the case.
In connection with the feud, Putin challenged Biden to speak virtually privately and broadcast directly to the public after he was called a “killer”.
Putin considers Biden’s statement just kindergarten gossip.
He said the last time he spoke with Biden by telephone was at the request of the White House on January 26, a few days after Biden was inaugurated as US President.
Putin also called Biden a hypocrite. He said Biden had accused him of doing something the US president himself had actually done.
Putin also touched on the history of the US, where the American population committed genocide and enslavement of black people. He also said it was the US that dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, at the end of World War II.
